Both mice are giving gip

I installed XP here tonite and both my mice are fecked. There both Trust Ami mice, different models and the drivers are the proper xp's. Lets see, one will move up/down fine but doesnt like moving across while the other likes moving across but not up/down, they jerk and stick and there both fine cause they work on my other XP box. The problem appeared about 2 months ago for apparently no reason when this machine was Win98se but its was much milder and went away after a min or 2, can anyone help me this is so god-damned fraustrating.
