Both cores always having the exact same load.

I don't know why, but my two cores always show 99% same load. Even when I play C&C Generals which is from 2003 where no dual-cores have even been on the market (at least not for the casual user). Is my PC only using one core or
what could cause this problem?

The OS kernel is always switching threads in and out and from core to core. It's kind of retarded if you ask me, especially if the cache isnt shared (ie the Q6600 has two pairs of shared caches which is why nehalem with its single shared cache feels so much faster). That's why some single thread games run faster if you peg their affinity to a single core and set the affinity of everything else to the remaining cores.
