Botched install of SP1! Need Ideas!

My father was downloading SP1 for Win XP Pro and over the course of a couple of days of a huge DL on AOL dial-up, it got screwed up. Now whenever he opens AOL, it runs for a second then a dialogue box pops up telling him AOL software has encountered a problem and needs to close. The same with IE 6. Now here's the kicker. When he opens System Restore, it too says it's encountered a problem and needs to close. Any work around? There is no uninstall from "Control Panel" available. All thoughts appreciated!

:clapclapclap: I'm amazed he even got past downloading 100mb. Just have a friend with a broadband internet connection download it to a CD for you. Or maybe ask a store to download and burn it for you?
