Boston restaurant recommendations?

The gf and I will be taking a roadtrip for our anniversary weekend. We plan to stay at a B&B in Rhode Island and will take a day to explore Boston. Can anyone recommend any good restaurants for a Friday night?

A friend of mine has already suggested Atlantic Fish Co.

If you're going to be downtown I recommend either Legal Seafood or Olives. LS is a chain, albeit a small one, but I've always been real impressed when I've eaten there. Don't remember exactly where Olives is, but good stuff for sure if you're into the mediterranean thing.

He did also mention Legal Seafood, but I've been to one in my area before. It was good but I feel like I should try something different.

we plan to venture the city a little bit during the day, maybe do some shopping on newbury. it's been a while since i've visited boston so i can't quite remember what areas i should be and what areas to stay away from.

the budget is very open, but i don't expect either of us to be dressed to impress after a day of exploring.

Went to the one in Andover in July.

Some of the best food I have ever had, Italian or otherwise.

Not in Boston, but not too far out.

EDIT, this appetizer was awesome!... my mouth is watering now..

Ravioli con Gorgonzola
Spinich ravioli filled with gorgonzola cheese served in a gorgonzola cream sauce with caramelized onions and toasted pine nuts

Yeah, it was an excellent choice.

My Omtool trainer took us there to eat. He couldn't have picked much better.

I got to try Legal SF when I was stuck waiting at Logan. 🙂

Legal Seafood is sometimes good, but as you mentioned, it is a chain, so go check out Olive. I'm sure the B&B can recommend unique joints.
