In fact, Lynchburg got its name from John Lynch, a man who established a ferry to New London VA back in the 1700's. It is amazing what people will say. I've never lived in Boston, but I know a lot of people (work with them, went to school w a few) who are from right around that area. Some are fine.. some are not. Same goes for any group of people like you said. But I've come to notice they are just more arogant, douchey and overall more unpleasant to be near when they are pissed than any large group of people I've been near before. It's just my opinion and observation.

Theres also way more people in NYC than most other cities. Mainly, a lot of gripes I have w Boston people, aren't over life in general. It's generally about sports. ALL my friends are Boston fans, except for a couple. These people think the Bruin's, the Sox and the Pats are god's gift to the human race. It's insane how bitchy and pouty they get if they don't win or you criticize their team. Maybe that's any douche who's a sportfan, but I'm constantly surrounded by it in person, social media etc, so maybe I'm just jaded. Who knows.
