This team is driving me crazy! Two weeks ago they were easily on their way to the play offs, now they are behing in the AL East AND the Wild Card. While the Yankees are busy winning 5 out of their last 9 game by 1 run, the Red Sox are busy tripping over their shoes and getting ready to have the janitor pitch relief.

Should be an exciting end to the season 🙂
 
I can't wait to get the Yankees at Fenway nursing something like a 1.5 game lead and sweeping their asses out of the playoffs, I'm actually glad they took they lead for now so they can get their hopes up and stop relying on lucky 1-run wins.

Don't even get me started on being a White Sox Fan. It doesn't help that my boss is a Yankees' fan and now he is running around laughing at me...
 
Looks like it's going to be another exciting, down to the wire finish in the A.L. East. Sox best bring their "A" game. Go Yanks!

Knocking the Sox out of first and possibly out of the playoffs altogether might just make up a little bit for last year. 🙂

I don't think there is anything on the face of the planet that will ever make up for the embarassment of the Yankees in last year's ALCS.

I am just waiting for the Red Sox to sweep the Yanks, Cleveland to win the wild card, and Joe Torre getting fired shortly after. 😀

p.s. will people stop ripping foulke and schilling to a lesser extent. Foulke pitched so hard last october he wrecked his body, he probably ruined his career getting us the world series title we've fiended for. So many guys pushed themselves so hard to the point that their careers will never be the same

What do you guys think of that Manny R. jogging incedient ? For those that don't know the sports writers were on him earlier this week. He hit a ball to the pitcher that was flubbed. Had he been running, he would have probibly made it. Instead he was jogging lazily towrds first base. They did a little montage of him screwing up and general half-assed play on Best Damn Sports Show.

Most people don't care, as he does have good numbers overall. I think I would be pretty irked if he was on my team, regardless of his output. Especially this time of year where every out/baserunner counts.

I don't watch alot of Sox games, is this an isolated incident blown up by the media or is he constantly pulling this sht ?

Note: To be fair, he did come back later in that game and hit a long ball.

It is not the first time Manny has been accused of not hustling his butt off.....Last year, the same thing happened when he did not charge a ball that was hit to him....
 
Manny has been blasted by media fora few incidents of him slacking or otherwise not putting %100 effort into every play. I believe Ortiz summed it up in this now popular quote, "Thats just Manny being Manny". Manny has made a lot of really good plays in the outfield which helps him along, including a recent play where he barehanded a ball off the Green Monster in stride and threw out a runner at second. If Manny had the weak throwing arm of Damon, then we would have trouble.

A lot of superstar players come with baggage, Manny is no exception
 
Honestly I don't see the Red Sox sweeping the Yankees at the end of the season... so if the Yankees build up a 2 game lead before then, they're safe in my mind...
