my university cannot cancel snow for a snow day but the professor can cancel their own class.

a few yrs back the school did a snowday and some law students sued the university of their day's worth of tuition.

Yea, University of NEbraska almost NEVER cancels class. Unless we have a bad ice storm.

the funiest thing our princinple told us once was that school was cancelled once, because of snow, but it didn't snow the next day!
this was high school, so everyone had a ball! (i.e.: they had fun...not something else)
anyways, since then, they haven't had a snow day since, unless it was by the government.

nope. michigan law students did it a couple years ago

so we get to fight the weather every time it snows

Correct. At no time during my public school educaton did I have a single teacher a quarter as hot as the female teachers on that show.

My high-school was closed last year when Ontario was supposed to get that "Hurricane". We got like 2 MM of rain.

How do you cancel snow? Does your university have some magical way to control the weather to change a snow day to a non-snow day?

most universities will not cancel school because they loose money, its up to the prof, 2 years ago when we got about 3 feet of snow in a storm the school DID NOT cancel class on Thursday, even tho the town and most of the state was in a general state of emergency, about 70% of the profs canceled classes anyway but not the school officially

on Friday, the school canceled school because they got fined by the state for not closing on Thursday during the general emergency deal, it was the first time the school officially canceled class in like 30 years

the last time was when they thought Three Mile Island was gonan blow up
