Boston Legal = new Ally McBeal?

Boston Legal is a spin off the legal drama, The Practice.

Yet Boston Legal is comedy, like Ally McBeal.

Anyone find that strange?

I wouldn't say its sticom-type comedy. It does talk about serious issues, but the characters are quirky enough to be considered comedic.

I think its a great show though, one of my favorites. The cast is excellent and Julie Bowen is a treat for the eyes.

Note I never watched 'The Practice' though.

Nope. Same person created them all. He's good for about 2-3 seasons then he goes off on some weird tagent and tanks the show.

He can only keep the situations clever for so long. His shows are doomed to fail from the start after a few seasons.

ALL sitcoms are doomed for the same reasons. It's hard to keep finding things to keep the shows fresh week after week...Desperate Housewives was funny the first season, but now, it's gotten to be just sexy women with pathetic story lines.
Unfortunately, I expect Boston Legal to suffer a similar fate sooner or later. (one of my favorites BTW)
