Yeah bring a lot of money, it's damn expensive there, especially for housing.

for those that are going....there are going to be a lot of people there...anything in particular u will wear, or anything particular all AT'ers could wear? for example some sort of pin, sign, shirt, w/e

something semi noticable

Parking is a bit expensive by the convention center...
Prudential Center Parking Garage
800 Boylston Street
617-236-3060
2,000 spaces

0 to .5 Hour $5.00
.5 to 1 Hour $9.00
1 to 1.5 Hours $16.00
1.5 to 2 Hours $22.00
2 to 2.5 Hours $25.00
2.5 to 10 Hours $28.00
10 to 24 Hours $36.00

All the other ones that the Hynes webpage lists that are in walking distance are going to cost me at least $25. As for street parking I don't want to be running out to the street every hour to put money in a parking meter.

According to this site I can park at the Riverside lot (I-95 exit 22) and take the green line subway to and from the Hynes center for a total of $7.

Is this correct and is there any cheaper parking within walking distance of Hynes?

You could probably part a little bit farther and maybe walk a little bit...can't hurt

also I'm sure that's not the only parking garage, but it certainly sounds like an expensive one "Prudential Center"

Yeah, the Prudential Center is very expensive to park at...your best bet would be to park somewhere farther away and then take the T to the Hynes Convention Center stop. There might be some cheaper parking on Commonwealth Ave, but I forget what the rates are.

Ummm every where is expensive to park in Boston. If you want, you could get your ticket validated at Shaw's and you get reduced rates. ($8 for 0-3 hours???). If you are going after 6, Park at Northeastern and find some metered parking (after 6, it's free). I always manage to find metered parking at NU and the Copley/Pru area (copley and pru is metered until 8PM) after 5.

Geez, I gotta find closer parking. The riverside lot is cheap but it's a 40 minute subway ride to the Copley place station. Are there any lots closer along the green line that are a little more but not a 40 minute ride? Also how safe is the subway after rush hour?

Park on South Huntington Ave. (it's not permit restricted parking), which is where heath St. is on the green line. It's about 15-20 min to copley with normal traffic. To get on South Huntington, you just go all the way down Huntington Ave and take a left when the T takes a left. The T is not dangerous at all, from my experience.

Is S. Huntington Ave street parking? If so then 2 questions:
1) How many hours can I park there before I have to move or refill the meter?
2) If I park around like 3pm will I find a spot there.

Thanks.

It's just regular parking. No meter, or sticker required. Park as long as you want as long as you dont park on weds at 7 AM to 12:01PM.

During 3, there should be lots of parking in that area.

Can anyone tell me if they're definately going? I assume Freejack2 is, but I just wanted a confirmation from people...it's in about a week, and perhaps everyone can wear something like a pin of some sort so AT members can distinguish each other.

You should of had the meet at the parade today!

i would've, except the weather sucked, it was too crowded, and nobody would have ever found anyone 😛

looks like it's going to be one or 2 people 🙁

maybe next year something non tech related? just to organize a date when everyone can go or at least the majority of people can go, and just get together somewhere? I'll try to have it a little more organized next year 🙂

So far so good for me to go. So how will we meet up/identify ourselves?

trying to come up with that right now...i'm thinking first off of reserving a row

secondly, i was thinking maybe everyone could wear a pin of some sort or a hat...so if i see someone wearing a pin or a hat, i'll pull them over and ask if you're from AT 😉
