The old Pro Logic like I have used a single speaker box with 2 speakers inside. These are the ones you see on egay. While they have 2 speakers there is only 1 set of connectors cause Prologic is one channel. The idea was to use a single one behind your head.

I don't know what the Digital Pro Media set looked like, but generally Identical speakers all around are the best bet.

You could always just get another pair of the DigitalMediatheaters and hook them up using the analog connection for the surround.

Grolsch but then you would be running 2 subwoofers if you use another set of mediatheaters. Im kind of confused im gonna wait for the speakers to arrive and then check it out.. I ordered one of those speakers off of Egay..whyen i look on BA site they still say to buy the one speakers for the surround whe you look on there technical page. HMMMM

Oh and the person that had the question about DIGITAL and the SB Live Value! Card. Yes the SB Live Value! Supports Digital, however the OLDER versions required you to have the SPDIF connector that hooks onto your SB Live Value! and takes up an empty card slot. The Newer models of the SB Live Value! come with Digital/Analog on the same plug. The Setting for this is in the Mixer for AudioHQ or just with in your Volume controls (double click on the yellow speaker icon if you have it still) and Click on the Advanced Button if the button ain't there goto Options/Advanced Controls click there then click on the Advanced Button and set it to Digital Only :)

I have a pair of the BA Digital media theatre speakers(got with gateway), and let me tell you they absolutely rock!!!! They are probably the best computer speakers i have ever heard. Huge bass, and brilliant highs. They work fine in digial mode with my SB live value.

The MSRP on these speakers is $249 direct from BA website.
I have had a problem wiht my speakers overheating, so i called BA and they said to plug them directly into the wall because they are picky about surge protectors, and that is why they overheat and shutdowm. I plugged mine into the wall and have not had a problem with them since.

I also bought the single surround speaker from egay and it is at best "ok" it works nice for dvds, and some games, but thats about it. All in all though, it was decent for $21. I am sure that the $99 surround speakers that have 2 satellites are much better quality.

Whatever you do, jump on this deal ASAP, you will regret it if you don't!!!

How does this unit compare with the Logistix Monsoon MH-500 which could be had around the same price? The Monsoon MH-500 has only 2-channels while the BA unit can have up to 3? Any other comparisons one can make between the two?

Cheese Dude, they are very different speakers. The MH500s are a well designed speaker meant to sell for $100. With their 4" woofer they will not amaze you with bass. See this ZDnet Review. The Bostons originally sold for $350 (the deal is on a newer upgraded version). ZDnet review of them isHERE. Larger speakers with higher output capability, much deeper bass. Still very musical. No Comparison.
