This is a pretty nice deal, I'm looking for a speaker system comparable to the Klipsch Promedia, and all the reviews I've read said these speakers are nice, but the reviewers still prefer the $250 Klipsch system.

CirekL, alot of sites that have reviewed the Klipsch speakers quite frankly don't know what they are talking about. I am a little tired of seeing some hardware review site do a review of speakers when they don't even truly know how to test. If you want to see some objective and thorough reviews on computer audio check out 3d SoundSurge

IMHO the Klipsch's are nice but they have very overpowering bass and a weak midrange. This isn't a big problem when your playing games since most sounds are going to be guns but the Klipsch's are much worse for playing music when compared to the BA4800's or the model from midiland (7100's I think) unless all you play is rap or some types of rock. Many people also do not like the way their particular tweeter design sounds. I think the Klipsch's are way overhyped because most people upgrade to them from some crappy sound system so of course they are going to sound better compared to $10 or even $50 speakers.

The BA4800's are great speakers, especially if you plan on playing music.

lagvoid, the msrp on the 4800 is 200 i think, and i remember them being 50 bucks less than the $250 klipsch. But it could be region based, maybe your compusa manager is pocketing the extra $100 :)

.HellRaven ,"IMHO the Klipsch's are nice but they have very overpowering bass and a weak midrange." I agree with that statement. I own klipsch and I play alot of music, and from day one I've noticed that although the bass is there it just doesnt sound like good/clean/crisp bass. Midrange is lacking to.

BOTTOM LINE IS-save yourself 100 bone$ and get the BA's;)

awhile back i bought the yamaha yst-ms50 for 130.. it has good base for how much i paid but the speakers plain suck. when i turn it up listening to music the base kicks loud but the speakers get a lil distorted. the ba speakers that i just got sound great. i would keep the ba speakers if someone wanted to trade me klipsch.

My advice - go spend like 100 more and get the BA7500's. Flat-Panel, ultra-clear sound. They are better than Klipsch and BA4800's. Check them out on BA's webpage.

I have the Klipsch Promedia speakers, and they rule. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an awesome set of speakers.

Well, I have a set of FPS2000's which I like being that my neighbors complain if I try to rock my apartment down, but I've experienced my friend's Promedia's and they were truely stunning. I've never played with the Crossfires, though I here they beat the Klipsch, and I've never played with any of BA's stuff. I'm looking for a sound system to hook up to my PLaystation and watch DVD's on.

If you can afford it, go with the midiland 7100 (I think that's the model, but anyway its their high end). Kicksass both in music and games. Heard it at a friend's house and is quite comparable to a home theater setup with receiver and sub (I have PSB speakers). Definitly sounds better than Klipsch. Costs $250 last time I checked.

I am getting the Midiland S4 8200's. Every review says these speakers kick ass, and it seems like a kick ass deal for a 5.1 Dolby Digital setup, especially if you will be watching DVD's. :)
