Help me out, please. In the past, I found a website with a tiny bootable ISO that will boot with the correct version of DOS to run Win98SE setup. I have the Win98SE cab files, but my boss needs to help someone to reinstall ASAP

Does the website still exist? I can find floppy disk images online, but I don't even have a floppy drive!

If your/your boss's software licences are in order just download the whole cd. The licence doesn't apply to the cd - just your right to use the contained within it.

I could do that, but it would take too long. He was already waiting for me when I made the post. I had told him that I have Win98SE, but it turns out that it's a MSDN DVD with all 9x operating systems, so I could not make a Win98 CD with built-in boot capability. I know that Setup.exe is very particular that the MS-DOS version be correct for it to run. Anyway, I found the web site...

Doesn't bootdisk.org assume you have a diskette drive?

I think the OP wants to boot from CD. Even the original Win98 CD didn't do that IIRC. :(

Both Win98 and Win98SE were distributed on bootable discs, though many computers are not configured to check for bootable CD's before checking HDD-0.

Strange, could've sworn I tried to boot off a Win98 CD the other day... (the MSDN version) I guess age does funny things to one's memory.

All I know is that the OEM version of Win98SE was able to boot off the CD while the retail version couldn't.

They have the 9x OS's on DVD? Hmm, I'd like to have a few copies. It'd be nice to dual-boot and play my old dos games.

Ah, cheers! That rings quite a few bells! I thought I was going mad there for a moment... :)
