Bose Wave Radio/CD, $399 after MSN Passport

You almost NEVER see the Bose Wave Radio or Bose Wave Radio/CD for less than their regular retail prices of $349 or $499 respectively. However, Cructhfield is one of the MSN "participating stores" and Crutchfield carries the Bose Wave series.

So, today I bought a Bose Wave Radio/CD for $499 less the $100 MSN rebate = $399 + shipping

You'll need to push the price over $500 to get the full MSN rebate, and you can buy three "Channel Vision 2101 75 ohm Male F Terminators" @ $0.36 each = $1.08.

Or does the shipping count toward the rebate amount? If so, never mind the terminators. I needed them anyway.

Bought a Wave about two years ago for whatever ridiculous price they were asking, figuring "hey quality is worth it"...I get home and plug the thing in and notice no tone controls...hmmm, let's check out the amazing sound...once again....hmmmm. I put this up against my $125 JVC boom box and both my wife and I looked at each other with that "is it me, or is the JVC better sounding" look. I spoke first and she gave me a smile which was all I needed to box it up and send it back from whence it came. At loud volumes, the BOSE is a wonderful unit for its size, but for some reason at normal listening levels, it really is not that impressive...and remember NO tone controls. One man's opinion!

I have had the wave radio for about a year now and it is absolutely wonderful. The sound is great at normal listening levels but it is not meant to be your main audio supply of your house. The alarm and snooze are great as well - the volume slowly climbs up to the predetermined volume of the alarm (makes waking up a bit easier). If you have the extra money and would like to have an unbelievable clock/radio - this is your item. If you are looking for a complete stereo system - get a lifestyle 50.

Just my 2 cents.

The provisions of the MSG/Passport offer are covered in full in another post in this forum. In brief:

MSN: $20 rebate pewr $100 spent, up to $100 back

Microsoft and MSN are pushing their "Passport" service with a deal that isn't too bad. Buy anything you want from "partner stores" using the Passport and you will receive a $20 rebate on every $100 you spend, up to $100 rebate.

For details, go to www.msn.com, look in the botton center of the page for the heading "What's Hot Right Now" and the link to "Shopping Rewards".

crutchfield.com is one of the partner stores, and carries the Bose.

thanks for the info, found it right where you said it would be. One question though, do I have to sign up for anything in order to get this savings? I've looked around and it doesn't look like I do but that may not be the case.

TIA

Anyone who buys anything from Bose is either deaf or an idiot. I think this is public knowledge?

Indeed, the Cambridge Soundworks Model 88 is the better bargain. You can get them on eGay for around $120 for a refurbished model. These are refurbs direct from HiFi.com, not private sellers. The one with CD is I believe around $249 on eGay.

Echo, if you will turn on private messages in your profile, I will explain the process to you... although the page I referred you to is quite specific about what you have to do.

If you are new to Crutchfield, you can get an ADDITIONAL $25 off, making this a truely HOT deal.

Search for 'crutchfield coupon' on any search engine or PM me for details.
