Bose QuietComforts vs Sony V6s

So what do you think? I'm looking for isolation, and don't really need separately powered noise cancelling like in the QCs. Still, the QCs do a great job of isolation and are very comfortable (my dad has a pair). I've only read about the V6's.

I also realize it might be unfair to compare a 300-dollar pair to a sub-100 dollar, but everybody is always talking about how Bose really ain't that great. Is that the case here?

edit: just because it costs more and people think they have better sound, doesn't prove anything.

Ugh, I vote for neither. If you don't mind in ear phones I would go with a set of Shure e2c earphones or a set of Ultimate Ears canal phones. If you don't like those variety then I would suggest looking at something like the Beyerdynamic DT 770 or Sennheiser HD-280 Pro.

In Ear stuff would be the best for isolation and its passive. Its basically like wearing ear plugs as long as you get the right size foam tip.

I have in-ear headphones, but they're not all that comfortable.. at least not as comfortable as circumaural headphones. I'm asking this comparison not so much to see what to buy, but because I have a pair of the QuietComforts and would like to know whether or not the V6's would compare. As in, since I won't get to try out the V6's beforehand, I want to kind of know what to expect.

I would put these against any Bose I've heard (and I just listened to two Bose sets yesterday):

Koss Portapro

And they're very comfortable.

You sound like you're looking for something high end, but I can assure you these will surprise you and compete with anything under $100.
