I recently purchased Bose Companion 20 speakers a few days ago. Yesterday I was watching a movie and around 20 minutes into the movie the speakers turned off as the sound stopped in the movie, followed by a couple of beeps coming from the control pod. I had medium volume on the control pad with Windows set at 100% volume. I know that some computer speakers have a standby mode after a certain time period of no sound but in my case there was sound playing when it happened. I read in an older online manual than the one that came with these speakers and I read user reviews on Amazon that these speakers have a standby mode after a certain time period without sound but the auto standby can be disabled on these speakers which I did before using them but maybe this was another issue I had? When I got the speakers, before using them I held down the button on the control pod for about 6 seconds then I heard a beep and let go. I returned them yesterday because it seemed strange that it was doing it even when sound playing and I'm sure I disabled the auto standby feature. I liked the appearance and sound (well one of the best sound from PC speakers I heard anyways) of these speakers. Did I get a defective unit or is this normal for these speakers?

No one here has these speakers? I'm wondering if it was just a defective set and if I should repurchase them.

I repurchased these speakers yesterday and they don't have that problem. Those speakers that I returned last week were defective.
