Boring post about emulation

I own a K6-III 400 cpu which, as everyone knows, has a weak FPU. It is, however, strong in the integer department which is why it rocks for business applications.

I just wondered how much computer/console emulators in general rely on FPU calculations in comparision to integer operations?

Every emulator I own runs at full speed, although I do have the common problem of choppy sound with WinUAE 8.14R3.

Also I tried the JIT compiled WinUAE 8.15R1 and it runs at 102 FPS with sound (still choppy) and 240 FPS without - surely these figures cannot be correct. I know JIT WinUAE is ment to be fast, but this is incredible!

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I use to run Zsnes on a Cyrix processor and we all know how much of a weak FPU processor it is. So it does not matter for the most part on the FPU. Unless you run something like a Playstation, Dreamcast, or N64 emulators. Then it would require a Pentium II or above.
