Borgs,Federation & anybody else cracking RC5 this is my question?

I`m cracking RC5,then OGR,do I really need to crack OGR,that`s my simple question,if not then I will change my setup to crack just RC5 which I know how to do.

A person can choose whatever contest they want. Some people are gung-ho behind just one project, while others prefer to switch between the two.

I do both myself. It's really a personal preference.

Whats OGR? Another thing like RC5 or something like that? But I think I mite want to go RC5 cause it is more popular.

OGR is the other contest currently being handled by Dnet. The client does both, and Team AnandTech has teams for both. You can rotate back and forth between the two, or do one or the other exclusively.

As for RC5 being more popular; there are certainly more participants, but that's a function of the fact that it's been around longer then OGR. They're both a lot of fun, and TA is ranked at, or near the top in both.

Thanks Russ! I have PMed Dennilfloss about joining his Team, cause he ansked me that earlier this month, and I said I will think about it and now I have. But my comp is only a Classic Athlon 650 so not exactly the best at RC5... I hear that you, Russ, is also a RC5 Expert.

The Athlon's kick butt at RC5. The only CPU better is, < yech > the G4. The 650 will knock out about 700 blocks a day.

Older versions of the client used to have an option to emit one of several moooooing sounds at the completion of each block. Kinda fun in a room full of comps all running RC5 with 2^28 block size.

Anyone know why was this feature eliminated?

You can have the new clients moo by downloading the moosounds addon from dnet DL area. Commes full blown with several moos randomly mooed when a block is complete.

Zapzilla : Last official version with Mooooing capability is RC5DESG.exe V436. I still have 3 comps with this version. I could mail it to you if you want one. BTW, this old version is a GUI version but don't have some nice feature of the new client. Max size of block is 2^31, you can't crunch OGR, it's only optimized for MMX (good for Pentium MMX, P2, Celeron, PIII) and it's a little slower than the new DNETC.
