Borg Cube TA #1 for 7-5-2000!

Yeah, congratulations! 😀

BTW Russ, still no word from dnet, I am convinced that they either forgot about me, or do not intend to reply. At the moment, I am just working on the DNS resolver (it is not working for some reason, and I am stumped as to why), and making the numlock key be on by default (should be very easy, though I have not tried it yet because I have been busy on the DNS problems). After that, I am going to considder it beta quality, and send a copy to dnet, hoping that with it being much more user friendly, they will at least judge it to be worth responding to. Just thought that I would give you a little update since you probably have not heard about it in a while, though I guess that it is probably not as important now that you have it working by other means (at least I think that you do)... Happy cracking! 😀

Ccalvert, I even emailed them direct about your floppy, and no response. I ask again - as long as you are loading the official dnet Linux client on the floppy, why does dnet care that you've packaged it on a single floppy? They don't dictate what OS we use or how it's configured... they only ask that we use official clients. Isn't that what you are doing??

About damn time! PhF has been bitch-slapping TA Cube for days.🙂

dvch,

Sorry, Seven is really busy. HeHe.

ccalvert,

Yeah, I did get her going, BUT, I definitely want to try out your disk!

Batti, yeah, I am only using the official client, and I checked the copyright statement in the /docs/dnetc.txt file that comes with it, along with the webpage http://www.distributed.net/legal/policy.html, and it looks like I should be able to distribute it since all that I have seen is basicly just saying that it is only to be used in distributed.net projects, that you have to have authorization to run it on a computer, and that you will allow them to put your e-mail address in the stats. However, the page http://www.distributed.net/download/clients.html says "Please do not make attempts to mirror or redistribute the client binaries, either via your own web/ftp server or other means.". Because of this, I really want to get their okay before I distribute anything with the client on it. I think that I might have a lead on the DNS problem, though I really can't say yet. As soon as I get that going, I am going set it up so that numlock is enabled by default. After that, I think that I will consider it beta quality, and send them another e-mail with the newer image. Maybe I will here something eventualy. 😉
