I favor the other approach to mailboxes: internal armor. On the outside, it looks like an unassumingly large mailbox. On the inside: heavy metal armor and other reinforcement. Go to whack the mailbox, and hopefully end up with a broken bat, and possibly a broken or sprained wrist. That, or a mailbox packed with C4 that simply explodes on impact.

c4 wont explode on impact AFAIK you need detonator
be careful it can blow mailman in shards

I knew someone was going to comment on that. So fine, fine, the mailbox would be lined with impact sensors which would trigger a detonator. Is that satisfactory?

(As a bonus, make it super sensitive. Bird lands on mailbox.....BOOM)

make sure you have a- plenty of backup mailboxes all set up with super duper sensitive detonators :laugh:
and means to clean up the mess from previous box (and bird)
