Bored. Want to take flying lessons

Does anyone on ATOT have a pilot's license? If so, how much did it cost. I was thinking about taking lessons at Chicago Executive Airport. The flight school there has a $2,500 dollar special for solo flight certification, but it costs $6,000 to get the license (because you need a lot of hours and aircraft rentals are expensive).

Should I?
 
what is a solo flight certificate? I don't recall that being even being a certificate and 2500 hundred seems steep to solo.

nah, not really. Figure it this way;
You give me 2500, I'll make sure you solo. Not everybody solos in 6 hours like I did. Some take upwards of 15 hours. 1500 for the plane and instructor, a few hundies for ground school, line the pockets of the FBO it all adds up😛
