If it was so great the ratings would show that.
really? I could see why they would cancel hung and how to make it in america, but I thought bored to death was doing well. I didn't watch it, but once in a while when I would catch a few minutes, it was always funny.
Hoping this is just trolling, but if not... seriously?
Do you also think all of the reality shows that have done so well ratings-wise are quality entertainment? Do they contribute anything to the progression of television?
Do you think Bush was a good president?
Once again if the show was great it would have better ratings. More people watching a show means more LIKE it, not everyone is going to agree on good TV.
Another great intelligent comedy meets its doom because of ratings.
It's Arrested Development all over again. Hopefully it'll come back from the dead years later in the same fashion.

When I saw this thread I thought the title said it all. That said, I never watched the show.
Probably like a lot of other good shows that get cancelled. Broadcasting networks make money on advertising which is directly related to the number of viewers each episode. Given the average intelligence of TV viewers do you think anything really good will survive.
Way to miss my point.
Popularity and quality don't always go hand in hand. Ratings have little to do with how thought-provoking, well-written or innovative a TV show in the U.S. is. They have everything to do with an advertising budget and how willing a creator is to cater to what the masses already like and are used to.
Nickelback has sold out stadiums, yet they are terrible.
Your opinion is yours even if it is wrong.![]()
The only thing in that post that was my opinion is the Nickelback comment.
That said, anyone who can honestly state "Nickelback makes quality music" goes on my "can't take seriously" list automatically. Sorry. I like music from every genre I'm aware of but they are the McDonalds of rock.
I didn't get around to watching Bored to Death, unfortunately. You are right though from what I've heard.
Also, Better Off Ted >>>> Arrested Development.
/runs and hides from eventual projectile fruits...

The entire post was a opinion.
