In 1963, baseball pitcher Gaylord Perry remarked, "They'll put a man on the moon before I hit a home run." On July 20, 1969, a few hours after Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon, Gaylord Perry hit his first (and only) home run.

BS: http://www.snopes.com/sports/baseball/perry.asp

The home run itself is easy to verify: Gaylord Perry, while playing for the San Francisco Giants, did indeed swat the first home run of his career on 20 July 1969, in the third inning of a day game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. (This was not the only home run he hit in the majors, though; he ended his career with a total of six round-trippers.)

Makes you question the rest of the list

"Burt Reynolds was originally cast to be Han Solo in the first Star Wars film. He dropped out before filming.

Pope John Paul II was named an "Honorary Harlem Globetrotter" in 2000. "

If the population of China walked past you in single file, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction.
Also, the line would stretch around the earth like 10 times.

It's against the law to have a pet dog in Iceland.
Old news, even then.

There are 2,000,000 millionaires in the United States.
At least 8 million as of last year.
