Sitka Spruce that I plan on making into a bonsai someday. Collected it on the Oregon Coast a couple of years ago. The dead branches are cool, makes it look old. :)
Another Sitka

Grand Fir

Small Western Hemlock whos pot has been stepped on numerous times. :D

Sidewalk pic with all my trees :)

Front yard

Huge Willow
Another

Side yard

Some idiot's horrible pruning job :frown:

Back yard

Folded fronds of the Mimosa we planted a couple of years ago. The leaves fold up when they're disturbed and at night. Need to dig it up before it get's too large, we want to keep it potted.

Driveway flowers

Our humble home :)

Yes, this Kodak DC3200 sucks. Not bad for a 1MP camera, though. :p

You wouldn't know that we live right in the middle of Portland. We live in a little cove, it's pretty cool. :) There are tons of rabbits and other wildlife. Even deer:confused: that come and eat the apples off the apple tree. We have no idea where they live in the meantime...

Looks very cozy, do you know the square footage?

Do you guys own or rent?

Did you ever make your own USB digicam cord?

Not sure on the square footage, it's not very big though.. 2 bedroom, 1 bath.. I'd guess maybe 1700sq ft.

We rent. I've been trying to pressure my dad into talking to the landlord about buying the place though, assuming he would even sell.. would be awesome. It's on an acre of land.. Lots of room for improvements. :)

Yep, made my own cable. That's how I downloaded the pics off the cam, heh. Not USB though, serial.. lol

That would be cool if your dad can talk the landlord into buying the house.

Yea. :)

Plus, in like 10 years when 92nd Ave. is basically Downtown Portland, the land would probably be worth double or triple what it is now.. Heh.

Well, yeah.. I just pulled that out of my ass, but isn't that kinda true? As residential space in this part of town dwindled and turned into commercial space, wouldn't the land indeed be worth more to a business looking to build than as residential land?

Infact, couldn't the state force you to sell your land if the zoning changed?

Not terribly bad it doesen't seem yet.

Although, I guess I haven't spent much time outside in the early evening hours yet.

When my girlfriend gets back, we're going to pitch the tent in the side-yard. Throw the air mattress in there, and it's pretty comfy on those warm summer nights. :)

Aww, it's not that bad.. :p

It could be a lot nicer though. The edges of the property have really been allowed to just.. grow. There are fruit trees and other ornamentals in the front yard and along the drive way, but they haven't been tended to in nobody knows how long.

The tree(well.. bush more like it) growing on the left side of the house is a Filbert(hazel nut, whatever) that was cut down and sent dozens of shoots up. I should prune it and make it more stately.

Just not much motivation, I guess. It's kinda hard to really care when you don't own the property. Plus it gives the area a kinda rugged, wild feeling. The leaning tree in the front yard pic was blown over last winter. Half of it is actually still alive, we haven't even bothered to cut it up even though we have a chainsaw, Heh. We just keep the main yard mowed, haven't even bothered mowing down in the little gully by the Willow tree this year. It was really pretty a few weeks ago, full of buttercups.. we just decided to leave it..

In the winter, fall and spring.. it's all swampy. We live towards the base of a 1000' hill called Mt. Scott.. so it seems we get quite a bit of runoff. You can see the path that it takes in the "Side Yard" pic. When it's really wet, there's an underground spring that bubbles up right under the Paper Birch(white barked) tree in that pic. :) When I first found it, I was like.. Oh no, a broken pipe.. lol

Yep...

I've been up there like twice.. It's not exactly safe anymore. :Q I have no idea when it was built, but it must have been quite a while ago.. the wood is all rotten and it's falling apart.

I've actually thought about taking the rest of it down, because it's starting to dig into some brances of the willow tree pretty bad.. but.. meh.

I wonder how old that willow is... I bet it's more than a century. It's flippin' huge.
