Hehe....I know the cycle geeks will be watching. I was just trying to suck a few more in. An american hasn't contended in the Giro since Andy Hampsten won it in '88. I've been studiously avoiding any cycling web sites today so I can enjoy the coverage without knowing who wins today's stage.

that hardcore on the roadie stuff but I enjoy watching them race because of how much strategy is invovled.

Hell, it's worth checking out just to watch Paolo Salvodelli descend the big mountains.....that guy is f*cking crazy. Even the motorbikes can't keep up with him going downhill.

Yep. Pay attention to Phil Liggett's call of the stage...he is far and away one of the most knowledgeable commentators in any sport. You can learn a lot about cycling tactics and what's going on at any given point in the race just by listening to him.
