Bored at work . . .

So . . . I do tech support for a university and since it's the summer and there aren't that many students around for the majority of they day I just . . . sit here and wait for people with problems. I managed to help maybe 2 people out of the four hours I've been here.

I'm really die'ing of something to do online to occupy myself.

can't you setup a proxy at home or something and go through that? do something so you can do something.

I have the same job as you man, except I have free range over the internet. And believe me, it still gets boring. Especially when I have a big window across the room and its so nice and sunny outside.

And the only girls that ever come in here are chicks who like to show a lot of skin, you know college girls, and man it is HARD. I mean that literally. It is HARD.

Yeah I wish I had that problem. Big windows. Hot chicks. I'm in the dungeon (basement) and they sprayed for fleas last night (the room, not me!).

Good suggestion, I recommend something like Triangle Boy with SafeWeb
Checkout Triangle Boy for more information on that.

Using Triangle boy it's next to impossible for them to stop you!

I know what you mean. I am a Help Desk worker here at my University's lab over the summer and man alive does it get boring. I have brought books to read -- I'm working on Great Tales of Terror and the Supernatural. I want to play games, but as a restricted user I don't have access to write to the NT or System folders. This is crap! I have talked with my admin about loading some games for me to play, but no go. Legal rules, which I can understand. But still, it gets boring. I really can't complain though, because I get paid to sit here and surf the net or read a book 26 hours a week! And I don't have to show up before noon either.

Aaah, yes. The only girls who need any tech support come strolling in those doors showing a lot of skin. That's beside the point, but I'm stuck at the front on an old Unix box so I'm limited to about 256 colors even through a WinNT terminal screen.

Basically it means no games, just internet, e-mail, and chatting.

However, whenever they put me on e-mail tech support or phones (when I get to phones, still training right now) I'll get to roam around and we have systems set up so we can just do whatever on them we want, i.e. beta testing, looking for bugs, or just playing games.
