Allz I know, with the job market the way it is today, experience counts. How many other college kids graduate with 3 separate 6 month work experiences?

Is that a program from your school? I haven't even started my co-op yet and I've got about 5 years of work experience too, I've had a consistant job since I was 14 years old. But most schools don't offer a program like Drexel's. For a 4 year degree, you go 5 years, and the middle three you have 6 months of full time co-op and 6 months of class. Real work in your field. I'd say its pretty decent.

Come on...am I the only stupid freshman here?

Like I said i'll be a senior in the fall and I am about ready to go on my third and final coop in the spring/summer. The only thing that I can say about the program is you get what you put into it. If you take it seriously and show up on time and work....most will either want you back for another coop or give you a job offer upon graduation.

......and you also make some nice $$$ for a college student!

I should have said:

I have more experience in my field of study than that and i'm a junior. I go to school for 3 months, go to work 3 months for 4 1/2 - 5 years, depending on how apt the student is to pump out 20 credits per term.

I agree. I was doing some pre-IT work and was observing the IT personel (my superiors) and realized htat that was not the carrer I wanted for myself. Don't get me wrong, I love the material, but the jobs themselves aren't what I expected.

Co-op is nice in terms of responsibility in that it shows you the rewards and consequences up front. Unfortunately I wasn't ready for the burden of responsibility and got canned, but I am grateful that I got that experience now as to not let it happen agian.
