Catch a riiiide!
I'm trying to enjoy this game online, but I can't. Which is lame because it's basically an online game.
1. 80% of the games I connect to are too laggy. I would expect some lag but not this much. I guess because it's a direct connection to other people's computers. Also the in-game multiplayer browser displays no information about latency or ping. So it's a crapshoot whether or not I'm even connecting to someone on the same continent. It's too bad they use Gamespy (didn't even know that was still around before playing Borderlands).
2. Voice chat is buggy and has to been on all the time. There's no option to make voice chat button enabled. So it just has to record every tiny gust of wind that hits the microphone and I constantly have to listen to all the mouth-breathers. This has lead me to disable voice chat entirely. I really like voice chat too, when it's setup correctly. So now I'm missing out on all voice chatter. No one seems to use the text chat in the game so I don't know whether people are ignoring me or trying to talk to me using voice. Maybe I can manually setup my microphone to only transmit while I press a certain button? When I play with someone I know we just talk over Steam voice chat, but I can't do that with random people I don't know.
3. Hmm, actually that's pretty much it 😀 - Those two issues are really big though, for me at least.
