For Borderlands get the GOTY, the extra DLC is well worth playing. People like the co-op but I played the whole game + DLC solo and had a lot of fun.

Is it safe to assume if I buy Borderlands GOTY from OnLive that I wont get a key I can redeem on Steam? I'm pretty sure but I need one more copy and if there is an off chance that I do then I'd be overjoyed

never purchased anything from onlive before.
when I joined to buy this it said it requires OnLive Game System.
you will be charged for this and any services that may apply.

Maybe its just be but overall I was not impressed.

OnLive is a remote access / remote desktop style gaming system, nothing like Steam or Direct2Drive. You do not get Steam keys.

It lets you play games with just integrated graphics or a dedicated player, since the rendering is done on their server not on your PC.

It's a hot deal for those who want that kind of game access, it's not so hot if you have a gaming PC and want the best performance.

No. You don't need squat. That's the cool thing about it. You can play it on an old crappy netbook, a phone, a mac, a tablet and now, any google enabled device. It's pretty amazing. They ALSO have a 'console' that is nothing more than a box not much bigger than a credit card so you can play PC games, like an xbox, on your TV through ethernet and HDMI. BUT you do NOT have to pay for the console unless you want to. I have it and I kick xbox type games super cheap. The controller is just like an XBox controller. In fact, XBox controllers also work. Just download the app for your PC.

Just try it. Go to onlive.com. Download the app. It's like 1.5 megs. Insanely small install and footprint. Try it. Free to try everything, including full versions of the games.
