5 Golden Keys:
K3WJT-BFBRW-S5RTT-TBBB3-9XWZ5

Yes, they released it today. Although, I'm not too sure if the previous information was correct. The name of the $5 DLC is "Ultimate Vault Hunter's Pack", so at least name-wise, I would believe that it includes the new playthrough. However, the only bonus stated in the description would be the additional 11 levels. So, I'm not too sure.

nice find on the golden keys, since I have gotten a few rare drops that were good, but the rares were even terrible sometimes.

Anyone know if the new content is available yet? I tried this morning before going to work, and it did not seem to be (UVHM). Just curious though, not really that excited about it. I dont want to pay for the level cap upgrade, and it seems like a exercise in frustration to play through with buffed enemies and not be able to even level up, since I was level 50 long before finishing TVHM.

It is out. Patch 1.4 includes UVHM.

It's not much fun though.

What are golden keys and UVHM ?

Golden keys are what you use to open the special chest in Sanctuary in the same room as the fast travel. Gearbox will posts codes that can be entered using what they call Shift that gives out the keys & other in game items.

UVHM = Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.

Turning the enemies into bullet sponges rarely makes the game more fun. :\

I mainly play solo and haven't tried UVH yet. I already played through normal & TVH with Axton.

Ended up deleting it so I could continue using the ES & ammo glitches to finish rushing my siren through TVH. From what I'm hearing even afterward I'll have to farm some better gear before even attempting UVH.

I've got about 101 Golden Keys saved up now, so I should be good on gear. 😉

I haven't gotten around to signing up for shift for the 1 freebie, and with work I always missed out on all the codes so no keys here. I did spend quite awhile farming the warrior with Axton before starting Maya. He at least has what I'd call decent, mostly purple, gear. Maya on the other hand still has some green gear in use.

Most of the codes last for days now, so there really isn't any worry about missing them unless you're away for an extended period. Those three-hour codes or the limited-use codes were mostly done in the beginning when they were testing SHIFT.

Someone showed me a list with a collection of all SHIFT codes. I'll have to get the link as that might help you out with a plethora of keys!

It's on IGN

I don't know if I am correct, but I had one character in normal mode and one in TV mode, and even those modes seem more difficult since the patch. I have a lot of badass bonuses and decent gear and was pretty much breezing through the game, but now it seems like the enemies soak up more damage. Anybody else noticed this, or am I just in one of those spots where my gear is not quite right?

FYI for anyone who doesn't own the game. It's currently the gold box deal on Amazon, $25 with season pass dlc.

That may be right. I cleared the cache on my xbox so I could use the ES & ammo glitches to rush Maya through TVH side missions. It seems that TVH is easier then what it was even before the UVH patch.

Might just be coincidence, but my luck without the patches has increased for getting orange gear. Only got 2-3 after completeing story twice along with all side missions on normal. Now I've already gotten 2 more in the last couple of evenings.

Is the level cap lifted for all characters in all modes or just UVHM coz I've carried on a level 50 character in regular VH mode and the level isn't increasing.

After buying the season pass for $10 I want to get back playing again but am debating on what character to choose. I beat the game with Axton the first time but am considering switching to Maya. I originally chose Axton since he seemed like the best character for someone new to Borderlands and my play style wouldn't fit Salvador or Zero. I'm considering the switch to Maya thinking she might be more fun to play as and would take more skill since the turret seems like a "noob" skill. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm only going to be playing solo.

I had fun playing as Maya. Maya is a little harder at first since the phase skill doesn't distract enemies, and doesn't let you run away like Lilith's phasewalk.

Playing her I found it important to have points in the (middle tree) Sweet Release skill that grants healing when you kill phaselocked enemies, and the (left tree) Suspension skill to increase the phaselock duration.

Besides those, it's up to you.

I have played Maya through level 55 so far and I enjoy it. In contrast to the last post, I largely ignored the middle tree and concentrated on the right and then the left. So either approach will work.

Initially, I played the game until I hit level 50 and then I quit. I resumed play recently after the level cap was released. I was surprised when I finished the second play-through to discover the game did not increase the levels for unfinished missions like BL1 did. A player has to either finish the missions at ridiculously easy difficulty levels or play a third time -- which I am not going to do. I am playing the DLC's using the UVHM mode primarily because the XP rewards are far greater and offer ability to reach max level without a third play-through of the main game. It is much harder than TVM and some of the XP awards are very weird. For example, killing a Badass Pirate is worth about 640 XP but an Anchorman is only about 250 XP even though the Anchorman is at least 10 times as hard to kill. (If anyone has hints about killing Anchormen, please post.)

It does if you never accepted the mission. But once you do accept it the level is locked.

I liked Siren best in the first game, but feel they kind of nerfed it in the second game. I played through TVHM with Zero, and surprisingly liked it a lot and felt it was a pretty powerful character. I put basically all my points into the sniper tree, as I suck at melee and also did not see how building a powerful melee character would be very beneficial against bosses.

I managed to get the Bee shield, and using that plus invisibility allows you to get off a good burst with high damage without getting your shield depleted.
