Borderlands 2 geary quest TVHM

I've read quite a bit about this quest online but want to see if I confirm one step as this is really the only gaming forum I visit anymore......Do you have to walk back to Eridium Blight from claptraps place or can you drive?

Me and my bro just made it to Eridium Blight late last night and I've got my jones on to try this quest and nab some purple loot.

As of Update 1.2.0 (Released 11/13/2012), entering a vehicle fails the "quest".

Looks like there are also restrictions for co-op mode which I would have missed for sure..

ya .... i have the route mapped out in my head.... I'm excited to try it...

The first thing I did after I finished my first playthrough was to go back to claptraps and look for the gear....then realized you had to do it in tvhm... Gonna plan on bringing 3 rocket launchers, primarily for the dust. I hope we score some goods.

Has anyone tried this in coop? I don't neccessarily understand this-----

Heh, I tried to help players do this quest, post patch. Walked all the way there, had some scary moments where fools would rush ahead solo and almost died, but eventually we all made it to the volcano, only to have the guy that really wanted to do the quest in the 1st place shoot geary mistakenly.

Have you actually done it in co op? Looks like only the player who is hosting can interact with Geary but then can all players grab the loot? I'm sure my bro will probably fall in the Lava on his up to get the chests and die...

I did it in coop when you could drive there. Pretty sure that yeah the host has to interact with geary, but the loot is free for all. Not sure post patch, now that you have to walk it. The loot was nothing special, though I did find some decent etechs in those chests. It mostly just something fun to do more than just for the loot.
