Borderlands 2 coming out on the Vita this spring

It's also coming in a bundle with the slim Vita.

Can we just take a minute and appreciate the fact that Borderlands 2 is going to be on a handheld? Impressive Gearbox and Sony, really impressive.

I thought I'd add that Gearbox didn't actually do any of the development on porting to the Vita. I forget what other company did it.

It looks like I'll finally be buying a Vita. And maybe PSN+ since you get free games and discounts on PS3/Vita titles:

Yeah, I've got a ridiculous back catalog of Vita games to play and I have no idea when I'll ever get to play them. As long as I keep my PS+ subscription up, I'm fine. So... just buy it when it's $30 around Christmas time, and you're set.

Also, keep in mind that Borderlands 2 on the Vita will have cross-save capability with Borderlands 2 on the PS3, and Borderlands 2 for the PS3 is currently a free game via PS+!

The Vita is a very underrated system. It actually does have a lot of good games, but they just don't have broad appeal. If only the memory cards were a little more reasonably priced. Oh, remote play with the PS4 is also fantastic.

I already have Borderlands 2 on PC but I'll probably pick this one up. It's a complex game but it's still one you can pickup and play. Too bad I really suck at it. 😛

When I picked up the PS4 and saw the benefits with the online service I jumped on the Vita. I love that little guy. Its like a really cool OLED screened midget in my pocket. Can't say enough how much I love it. the free games plus a 64gb imported memcard, dabest!

Yeah I was mostly interested because $199 seems like a pretty good deal for the Vita + memory card + game. I've been wanting to play FFX/X-2 remaster but there's too much competition for the TV right now so a handheld would be ideal.

An 8gig memory card isn't much of anything, so I wouldn't put too much value in such a thing. I have a 32gig and it's still full. It's still a decent deal if you would want BL2 anyway, but if not it's a little lacking.

Anyway, I don't like these types of games on the Vita specifically because of the terrible control scheme you're forced to use. I really enjoy my Vita, but not for things like Killzone and Borderlands. It really shines playing Zen Pinball, Tearaway, Rayman, Guacamelee, hell even Injustice and Mortal Kombat. It falls apart for me when it comes to shooters, even Uncharted.

I remember the months leading up to the BL2 release my wife and I were so excited, being huge BL fans. We played the crap out of it, then promptly quit playing midway through the first DLC and never picked it up again. Complete waste of a season pass. The game is decent but they made some really boring choices with the game as far as gameplay goes. I really enjoyed Handsome Jack and the story, but the gameplay really suffered in some very fundamental ways that really hampered the game's long term replayability.
