Borat Tricked Me

Maybe they shouldn't sign anything without reading it first.

Anyone who blindly signs forms is asking for trouble. If I don't bother reading a EULA or form its my own damn fault if it comes back to bite me in the @ss.

Funny, we just had a thread yesterday about another group not following the contracts they signed. There was an amazing outpouring of sympathy for that group who got sued out of business, wonder if everyone will step forward and support the actors here?

what thread was that?

should they get more money hell no.

The contract makes it rather clear that they can do anything they want. As much as I'm for letting people screw themselves over, it should still be illegal to portray the person in a way that's inconsistent with what they have said. It?s one thing to be defamed, but defamed falsely is over the edge.

Yes, but if you take the people to a bar before shooting and get them drunk and verbally promise it won't air in the US, the contract can be voided.

It's not like these people were trying to get health care for their sick children, and someon said "sign this first".

As far as I can tell they had no motivation to sign anything, especially something as long or complicated, without reading it first or having someone else read it for them. The only thing they could have possibly wanted from Borat was some money.

This is a case of pure stupidity. No they don't get any sympathy from me.

The only issue here is whether or not they bothered to ask about the details rather than let the chance at their 15 minutes of fame get by them. As I see things, they saw dollar signs and thought they could cash in after the fact.

I wouldn't put my name on anything without knowing full damn well what it was, what it's purpose was, and if it's a production, requiring the approval of my role in it before it can be released... as I've done before.
