So I got the soundtrack after I saw the movie and much like the movie, there isn't anything actually Kazakh about it - most of the songs are from around the Balkans (Romanian, Bulgarian, Serb, Macedonian etc) and a lot of them are gypsy tunes sung by gypsies. I'm probably in the extreme minority, but I like this kind of music, since I think its one of the best drinking/mood lifting music around.

There is also a hilarious song by Borat called "You Be My Wife", which is a ****** hilarious joke love ballad. the chorus goes
:music: "You be my wife,
I treat you nice,
We will make love,
whenever I like,
I give you two shoes,
and dress that is red,
they belong just to you,
since my old wife now dead." :music:

And finally, there's the Kazakhstani anthem. Overall, a very funny and enjoyable soundtrack.
