it's a poke at 3rd world countries. unfortunately it had to be Kazhakstan that he chose. Just watch it and laugh for what its worth on the surface and don't look too far into it.

The movie was NOT at all good.

It was obviously scripted (hence there was a cameraman).

This is coming from someone who thought the show was ridiculously funny BECAUSE it seemed (even if it wasn't) real. The movie does not at all. It's obvious that (almost) EVERYONE is an actor... the show it is not obvious at all

:(

i'm upset that it was not good.

i'd give it a 6/10

but for a Borat Movie i'd give it a 2/10

I liked it but I was let down. The Borat segments on Da Ali G Show are generally funnier IMO. I think to some extent it suffered from their desire to tie together all the reality bits with a plot. I'd still give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5, but I was hoping for more.

Aside from that, it gets a C+/B- in my book. It was funny, but got old real fast. I was kinda just waiting for it to end with about 20-25 minutes left to go.

Good for some laughs, but I'd wait for the dollar cinemas or get a nice buzz on beforehand.

shouldnt it be "go see this movie if you dont mind seeing cock" or " dont go see this movie if you mind seeing lots of cock"?
yea. dont watch porn either if you mind seeing lots of cock also.

homophobia runs rampant in these forums

Actually it was a poke at us and how we interpret and deal with foreign influence around us.

Saw it last night. I laughed out loud a few times and my mouth dropped to the floor once (when the fat guys spread asshole was in Borat's mouth), so I'd say I got my moneys worth. Anybody who expected more out of it is an idiot.

What was really funny was that he called the host's wife ugly, called one of the guests a retard, brought a bag of ****** to the dinner table... but as soon as the black woman showed up, the police were on their way

I'd be interested in knowing how much of it was known in advance. I can't imagine they'd do that to Pamela Anderson without her being in on it. But pretty much everything else looked genuine. The worst were the frat boys in the RV, those were some really harsh things they were saying about women and minorities - and everyone they know is going to see that clip...

I was really suprised with the release of this movie - there are two major theatres near me, and pretty much all new releases get two screens at each threatre. Borat is only playing on one screen at one theatre, wonder if it's because of all the controversy.

Wow cubby1223 my thoughts are the same as yours. Saw III has 3 screens, Borat has one. Maybe they didn't know it was going to be such a hit?

I was wondering the same about PamELLA Anderson

yeah I"m sure pam was in on it. or she'd never sign the release. That and he notes the next day he's going home. I doubt trying to kidnap someone and the cops will let you go.

plus it was quite odd that no one tackled him a second time until he ran outside which was quite empty too by the way.

from what ive read...it all was real unscripted except for the beginning...the very end..and all his stuff with his fat friend. I believe the article also said that the part at the end with pamela anderson was not actually her, so that is how they were able to do it.
