The movie was NOT at all good.

It was obviously scripted (hence there was a cameraman).

This is coming from someone who thought the show was ridiculously funny BECAUSE it seemed (even if it wasn't) real. The movie does not at all. It's obvious that (almost) EVERYONE is an actor... the show it is not obvious at all

:(

i'm upset that it was not good.

i'd give it a 6/10

but for a Borat Movie i'd give it a 2/10

not true. the movie was almost all improv'ed and almost everyone borat came in contact with didn't realize he was an actor.

if that's true, then it didn't appear so.

the show, it appeared so, the movie, not so much.

First of all he is a British comedian. He does not have any right to go after any country like that.
He is not form Kazahstan, he never lived there, he is exploiting really, really poor people...
The only thing these people have is a pride about their own country and this as*hole is taking that away from them?

wow, are you an idiot or what?

first off, he's exploiting no one... he's making fun of the united states, not kazakhstan. he is using the american view of what a person from a no-so-well-know-country like kazakhstan would be like... then, he turns it around to show american public just how ignorant and dumb most of them really are.

this movie was awesome... you've got to see it.

i LOVED how whenever borat went into the evangelical church... the entire audience SHOULD have been laughing their asses off at what they were seeing. however, since i happened to see this movie in the midwest, NO ONE laughed except me and like 3 other people. everyone just kinda sat there uncomfortably as borat showed the audience how dumb they are.

i also loved the scene with the feminists... whenever the one woman explains feminism as the view that women should be equal to men and borat stifles a laugh. hahaha that was too damn hilarious.

I don't have anything against Jews but I think the funniest scene was where it was 3am and it shows him clutching a hatchet and his money at the Jewish bed and breakfast. Then the roaches crawl under the door and they start yelling and throwing money at them, trying to make them go away, I was LOLing so hard..

that was hilarious... what made it funniest was when he was clutching his money.

also, the running of the jews part when the woman jew laid an egg and the kids broke the egg before the chick could hatch... i died laughing at that part. too funny.

some of it was scripted but you could tell the majority of the people had no clue he was an actor.

The Church scene... does that really take place? scary some high ranking members were part of that. I think that is a little fanatical IMO.

that's churches in the south, dude. my friend's from louisianna and she was like "wow, this is just like churches in my hometown... watch, he's going to start speaking in tongues, some dude's gonna start running around, they'll hit someone on the forehead... watch...."

surely enough...

HAHA

"Then the man took off his hat and sang what he said was his native national anthem. He then told the crowd to be seated, put his hat back on, and launched into a butchered version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" that ended with the words "your home in the grave," Sharp said."

too funny haha

Anybody know if ESPN is going to have live coverage of Running Of The Jew this year?

Without a doubt the funniest movie I've ever seen. It was incredible...just.. thank god it wasn't funnier, since I would have lost my ability to laugh at things, like Cartman in south park.

And I absolutely loved the kazakh anthem with the soviet industry propaganda footage!

:music:
Kazakhstan greatest country in the world,
all other are run by little girls
Kazakhstan number one exporter of potassium,
all other countries have inferior potassium.
:music:

Borat was at Fox yesterday all day, and my friends there told me he wanted scripted questions for all of his interviews. Plus, he's giving a lot of the same answers in all of his interview venues. I guess that's to be expected to a point, but it doesn't say too much for improv skills in an interview scenario.

That said, I'm a big fan, and will be seeing the movie today. One of my favorite segments of his is the Arizona Republican club clip. The looks on the women's faces when he talks about women and politics is priceless.

The reson I don't get the "joke" maybe is because I am not from the US oryginaly and I can not imagine someone trying to portrait my country like that....
I am not sure what I would do?
Also, half of the people posting here seems to think that this guy is for real...
