Bootvis killed my USB mouse

I just ran Bootvis for the first time on this installation of Windows XP, and now my mouse doesn't work! It apparently disabled something from loading. If I put the mouse on the USB->PS/2 converter, it works. If I unplug the mouse from the USB port and plug it back in, Windows recognizes it and it works. It just doesn't work upon loading Windows. So does anyone know what file or setting could have been removed?

Check in Device Manager and see if there are any errors for your USB mouse port. Right click on your My Computer icon and select Properties in the menu. In the menu that coms up click on the Device Manager button. In Device Manager click on the PLUS (+) sign for USB and check that all your USB devices are OK without any yellow circles with an exclamation mark in them. If you see one then you have a problem.

On my XP system one day my USB SanDisk reader's light did not light up as it is suppose to. I unplugged the SanDisk USB plug in back of my computer case and then plugged it back in and XP has recognized it since then.

What was your reason for running Bootvis?

You can run MSCONFIG from the Start/Run menu. Check to see if your mouse is selected in the START menu. If it does not have a check mark for the mouse then click and check it.
