Bootup Issue and Update Issue

I am using Windows XP Pro. 2 Problems. First issue is whenever I bootup a box appears which says Folder Name on top. There is a space where I can list what I what the folder is to be called. It says "New Folder" in blue by default. How do I stop this from happening?
Second Issue. Apparently my copy of Windows XP pro is not authorized and the Windows Update Site will not let me download. How do I handle this without having to reinstall Windows?

Is your copy of Windows legit? Check which apps/services start at boot/login time and try to find out which one of them is bringing up the new folder dialogue.

I thought my copy of XP Pro was legit come to find out it may not be exactly... Is there a way to rectify the update thing? Perhaps another site where the updates coexist for people with this problem"wink,wink"? Or perhaps there is a way to reinstall the serial with another one? Let's say I have the correct legit serial,how would I go about installing it now?
As far as why this stupid folder thing appears at bootup I have no idea which program brings that up... I am at a loss there. Help?! 🙂

From the activation screen. Search google on how.

List all the programs that load at startup. Find the odd one out or post the list here. It might be a non-Microsoft service.

Stupid comment.. "wink, wink". Are you really asking us to help you get updates for your maybe not so legit copy?
