i just intalled vista and this file was in my seconday drive

what is it?can it be delteted?

I just noticed it too. I believe that it's a backup incase your bootsector gets corrupted. I wouldn't delete it.

It sounds like a boot sector backup to me. It is very likely safe to delete it.

Sure it sounds helpful but I'm not sure how you'd restore your boot sector with the file in any easy way. Whatever, I probably wouldn't delete it either but if you're a clean freak go ahead.

you can delete it, these are backup boot files created by Windows Setup
Boot.BAK
BOOTSECT.BAK

Did you install Vista through XP as a Dual Boot? If so I would leave it.
