Boots fine, but frequently goes to bsod

I am having a problem with bsod. Each time it happens, it says something different. So far I have seen bad pool header, bad pool caller and memory management.

I turn on task manager and physical memory is an average of 35% when just sitting idle at the desktop. CPU usage is usually in the single digits during this time, but occasionally spikes to as much 60% for no reason.

It will shut down in safe mode, but not as often. Physical memory in safe mode is down around 20%. That's still pretty excessive, isn't it?

This system about 3.5 years old. I built it. Everything is compatible. Nothing has been added or changed recently. Specs are below. Any ideas what may be happening? Thanks.

Motherboard: EVGA 750i FTW
Processor: Intel e8500 @ stock speed
Memory: 4gb (2x2gb) ddr2 pc2-8500
GPU: EVGA GTX 260
Vista Ultimate 64 SP1

The errors you are seeing can be caused by bad drivers... have you updated any recently? Also have you added any new external hardware like printers scanners etc.

Well, I pulled my ram out to see the exact model. I put it back in and now everything works just fine. I guess the ram just needed to be re-seated. In case anybody was wondering.

Over the years I have seen loose connections cause all kinds of problems. One of first things I do when fixing computers is check ALL of the systems connections.
