Booting up with mobo outside of case.

I'm diagnosing a problem and I'm going to boot up the machine with the mobo on a peice of cardboard outside of the case.

Should I put one of those anti-static bags underneath it or anything? I want to be as safe as possible.

it's fine on the cardboard, unless you have some kind of crazy, metal coated cardboard... I've booted many times on a piece of cardboard
