Booting off solid state storage device?

Hi. Is it possible to boot the computer from a solid state device like a memory stick or any other solid state storage device from an internal card reader instead of a floppy disk, but like a floppy disk?

Yes if your system bios supports it. you will need to make your flash device bootable and set your system to boot from it via your system bios. Hope this helps... 🙂

Yup--- and a lot of your mini-itx boards support it or come with the reader built in.

Goto... Mini-ITX.com

Look for a IDE Compact Flash reader. Many are bootable. The reader connects just like a hard drive and uses a CF card for storage.

Here is one for $20.00 Add a CF card and install OS.

Disclamer: I have not purchased anything form the Vendor above.
It is a example for the reader.
