Booting Mandrake MNF from CF

I'm hoping to build some Mandrake MNF systems, and use Compact Flash cards rather than hard drives to ensure reliability. Anyone have any experience booting MNF or similar linux OSs such as E-Smith (with a 300mb boot image) from CF?
