Booting from SCSI drive - Intel DP965LT... is it possible?

I was all exciting about installing a 146G ultra 320 scsi drive on my DP965lt mobo. I put the drive in the system with the current build and I can see the card and drive. However when I try to reinstall windows onto the SCSI drive it will not work.

After running through setup and copying files to the SCSI drive, it comes to the point where it boots from the SCSI for the first time and simply displays a flashing cursor in the upper left side of the screen. Then it just sits.

In the Intel BIOS I can see the drive and set it as the first boot device. This is booting off an LSI2230 ultra320 card. Everything seems to be terminated correctly as the drive behaves normally if I plug the SATA in and use that install to load windows.

Am I missing something?
