BOOTING--from maxtor d740x, ata133 card

question: i have an asus a7v with onboard ata100...and my old 20gb 75gxp boots from it. however, i just added a 80gb maxtor d740x, running off the ata133 card that came with it (retail package).

HOW do i boot off of the maxtor running on ata133...as of now, i cannot make it boot from the maxtor; there simply isn't an obvious way from the bios. any advice?? thanks

In Bios, in your boot options, do you have it set to boot scsi first in boot order?
The Bios sees that card as a SCSI controller so if you tell it to boot scsi, it'll look at the card and notice that new hard drive.....or at least it should.

who makes that maxtor card?
IIRC two promise ata cards won't work together in 1 system(taking the onboard controller as a card though it's not). could be mistaken on this though!

this worked actually, thanks. 🙂 btw, the card is a promise ata 133 card. the drive is blazing fast compared to the 75gxp (which is still alive....)
