Hi my sons PC is a bit limited by its 40GB HD so we have bought a SATA II drive (250GB) to put programs, files etc on. I wanted to leave the IDE drive with the OS in position and boot from it but it comes up with the screen you get if you do an F8 Windows boot with the various options, none of which work it just goes to a black screen. The MB is a ASUS AN8-SLI Premium. How do we set it to boot from the IDE with the SATA drive fitted so that we can format it and use it.

Thanks

Make sure the ide drive is set to master and the sata is either left alone or put on slave. I also believe you can put the prioritize drives.
