Read that 965 and p35 intel chipset motherboards don't support IDE natively. Is it a problem to install Windows and boot up from IDE optical drives and hard drives?

No.

I have set system with both 965 and P35 and Ide is easier the sata for both.
Asus P35 does wierd stuff with sata and IDE anyway.

My sata drives and my CD-rom both are shown as SCSI drives.

Thanks for the reply.

Did you have to load drivers for the IDE controller while installing Windows, since the IDE controller is separate from the southbridge.
