Bootcamp Files

Hey everyone.

I have an Apple Macbook (2010) running Snow Leopard that I'm using for school. I want to be able to install Windows and use a dual-boot configuration. Problem is... I can't find the bootcamp files necessary to start the process.

Anyone have any ideas on how/where to get these bootcamp setup files?

Thanks

So there is nothing in the Utilities folder called BootCamp Assistant? Odd.

Yes, it is on the install disk, but you will need Pacifist (free, full featured trial available) to extract it.

Basically, you drop the disk in, then launch Pacifist. You then tell Pacifist to open the disk, and then you can navigate from there. I don't have a snow leopard disk on hand since I am at work, and haven't used Pacifist in a while, but I recall it not being too hard to navigate.

Admittedly, if you are installing Windows 7 or Vista, you should be able to use Disk Utility (also in the Utilities folder) to break off a partition from the drive. Then you should be able to put in your Windows disk, hold alt after a restart, select the disk and install from there (reformat the Windows partition from the Windows disk, if you don't it will not work).

Thanks Stu and hypemarked. Last thing. Should I be extracting it from my snow leopard disc or regular leopard? Thanks for your help

If you have Snow Leopard installed then from the Snow Leopard disk.

Once you have Windows installed, you put the Snow Leopard disk in again and you can install the drivers from it.
