HUGH!!! Is this a "trick" question or why hasn't anyone replied on this:
This is news to me......... All you need is: a BIOS that allows booting from USB CD/DV device plus bootable media and the problem is solved. Anyone know differently?
has nothing to do with the drive, it is all about your BIOS. your motherboard needs to support booting from a USB DVD drive. if it does you are golden with ANY external USB DVD drive, if not, you are stuck. (there are the rare cases of specific drive + specific mobo being incompatible, but those are very rare)
