Hi,

Is it possible to create a bootable Ubuntu USB stick (I have an 8GB one) that would allow me to run Chrome/Firefox off the USB stick, and also read/write to NTFS-formatted SATA hard drives on the same PC?

When I try this I cannot get Ubuntu to see the other hard drives (which have Windows 7 on them and I know them to be working fine).

It should do that by default. The drives don't show up when you open "Computer", or whatever it's called now?

It sees one drive, but not the others? Is this a RAID configuration?

Linux is supposed to be able to read, but not write to, NTFS formatted hard drives. I don't know about Ubuntu's capabilities in particular.

The Ubuntu LTS release boot CDs that I've used for data recovery, allowed both reading and writing to NTFS drives.

It can do both, and has for awhile. Ubuntu should have access out of the box. If the drive really is AWOL, it's probably not auto-mounting it for some reason.
