Are there any cpu stress tests that are bootable and can be ran outside of windows? I would like to test my processor outside of windows to start and skip all of the wait time for windows rebooting and running the risk of courrupting windows. Sorry if this post doesnt make much sense.

Thanks,
Brian

You could create a second windows install and boot into that for testing, then only the vanilla one will get hosed, unless it takes out your boot.ini :p

Only tests I know of are memtest86, but this is obviously only for mem, but it is still a good stability test. Check the sticky at the top of this forum for links.

this isn't true necessarily

memtest does test the cpu as well if you turn the cache option on while running the test

just do

c-2-3-1-2-0 spacebar

and it'll test your ram and cpu

good luck!

Thanks...That is all I needed. I just wanted a simple test of stability, Prime95 and other can handle the rest.
